I earned a Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan and am currently employed as an Environmental Geochemist with a mining consulting firm in Saskatoon, SK. My wife, Megan, and I were married in 2007 and live in Hampton Village.
INVOLVED. DEDICATED.
I have dedicated thousands of volunteer hours, serving in leadership positions, on a range of organizations and boards dedicated to making Saskatoon an even better place to live:
- Chair, Saskatoon Environmental Advisory Committee (SEAC – a citizen advisory group for Saskatoon City Council)
- Member, Quint Developments Inc. Board of Directors (a local community economic development agency dedicated to improving housing and employment opportunities in Saskatoon’s core neighbourhoods)
- Past-President, Saskatoon Cycles (a local non-profit organization dedicated to safer cycling in Saskatoon)
- Past Vice-Chair, RoadMap Saskatoon (a non-profit focused on engaging the wider Saskatoon business community on energy efficiency initiatives)
INFORMED. ENGAGED.
I am a strong advocate for greater transparency and engagement by our civic government.
In November 2009, I launched Municipal Matters – an online forum dedicated to reporting, investigating, and highlighting the activities of Saskatoon’s City Council and Civic Administration. Since, I have attended most City Council meetings and a wide-range of public meetings.
Nearly 400 posts later, Municipal Matters has become a go-to place for Saskatoon residents for in-depth analyses of the major decisions taken in Saskatoon and has afforded me the opportunity to become informed on the small and major issues of concern to Ward 4 and Saskatoon residents.
